剧情概要:

This is the most enjoyable atmospheric interpretation of this story, with black photos and a melancholic background, which may be Conan Doyle's happiest version. There is an important plot change that enables the beautiful Alice Brandt to play larger roles and more interesting parts throughout the entire process. This change also shapes the roles of Dr. Mortimer and Lord Charles, but it also provides a good introduction to whether Fritz Rapp's clever portrayal of Barrymore here is insidious or kind. Although the storyline is rich, the director is captivating, and the performances of all the actors are captivating, many fans may find this version somewhat disappointing. There are at least three reasons: like novels, Sherlock Holmes plays a crucial but rare role in the narrative. In this version, not only is there no attempt to expand his role, but if there is any difference, the screenwriter and director will do their best to minimize it. Holmes didn't even appear for half an hour, and when he finally appeared, he turned his back to the camera. Dr. Watson, played by Fritz Odemar, received a more favorable shooting angle. This is purposeful. The protagonist of 'The Baskervilles' is Watson, not Sherlock Holmes. In most narratives, Holmes disappeared. Watson and Lord Henry (played by Peter Worth) ran for election. The movie was almost over, and it was only then that Holmes approached the villain. Even so, this is not the infatuated and arrogant Sherlock Holmes who we are accustomed to seeing in power. Another issue is that the champion chasers themselves did not play a significant role in the game, and relegation will undoubtedly become another major disappointment for fans. Finally, it can be said that the script focuses too much on Conan Doyle's distracted fugitives and not enough on the true villains. That is to say, everyone must admit that Odema's interpretation of Watson - smart, charming, calm headed, brave, and resourceful - is closer to the concept of Conan Doyle than the clumsy and foolish Nigel Bruce or the humble Ian Fleming. There is another player worth special mention: Erich Ponto (Dr. Winkle from "The Third Man"), who seems perfectly suited for Stapleton. A difficult part, performed well John Howard Reid, imdb
