This is not the land of the free. It is only very unwillingly and sporadically the home of the brave.
Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.
History is not the past. It is the present. We carry our history with us. We are our history. If we pretend otherwise, we literally are criminals. I attest to this, the world is not white. It never was white. Cannot be white. White is a metaphor for power.

走出电影院的时候片尾的rap的愤怒和自我调侃 走在前面的白人夫妇 看着感觉uncomfortable 但是非常好的事情是 不只是美国黑人来看这个纪录片
不是以古諷今就是託今返古。若是前者，實際上佛格森事件與整個Black Lives Matter活動都有它自己的脈絡與當代獨立的訴求，直面事件本身與當下，不是遠比扯個魯迅談中國人、然後文下千篇一律的推文“先知！”、“都快百年了還沒變！”更能切中時弊？如是老人學說網路用語⋯⋯那麼好吧，cringe/corny/phony，現在小孩很難不這麼回嘴吧？

昨天看某个脱口秀时，我看到了一个让人备感不适的表达：“乐观的原因是愚蠢”。当下，我并不知晓自己是否是乐观主义者，对于大多数的社会问题和新闻，我大多站在旁观者的角度。看完本片后，追溯这个问题，有了一点模糊的认知：作为历史上基本一直保持独立文明和间歇性繁荣的中华民族的后代，是永远无法真正理解另一个长期处于苦难和歧视的人种的。我们永远无法想象，自出生起就要面对繁荣理想的社会、与注定低人一等的身份之间产生的巨大割裂，这样成长起来的数代人，会有怎样的想法和情感。
