Bill Sanders, a mentally disordered retired soldier, killed a man in a fight at a bar in London after the war. After escaping, he hid in the apartment of lonely nurse Jane Walton. Later, despite doubts about Bill's violent nature, Jane still dated him and Bill was determined to carry out reforms. She found him a job driving a medical supplies truck. But Harry Carter, the blackmailer who witnessed this murder case, wanted to use Bill's talent to commit a crime.
