Adam John Walsh (1974-1981), an American boy, was kidnapped at Sears Department Store in Hollywood Shopping Center, Hollywood, Florida on July 27, 1981. Two weeks later, his head was found in a drainage ditch next to the Florida toll road in rural St. Lucy County, Florida. His father, John Walsh, became an advocate for victims of violent crime and the host of the TV program America's Most Wanted. The convicted serial killer Ottis Toole confessed to Adam's murder, but because the evidence was lost and the confession was revoked, he was never convicted of this specific crime.
