可谓是阿斯泰尔对自己摇摆舞演艺事业的轻松调侃。遗憾在于故事松散，欠缺主要冲突，和缺少高潮，缺少将焦点人物逼入绝境只能二选一的高潮。男女主人公对于舞蹈形式分歧的解决过程过于轻松，甚至令人忽视了它的事件困境作用。奥斯卡黎凡特在《一个美国人在巴黎》中展示出的钢琴技巧也没有机会体现。一个充满天赋的制作班底，本能成为令影片从合格到杰出的保证，但仿佛半开水似的故事结构实际令它看上去就像一座冰山，只有1/8的天赋露出了水面。
