A young Canadian nurse (Bessie) came to the West Indies to take care of Jessica, the wife of the plantation manager (Paul Holland). Jessica seems to be suffering from some kind of mental paralysis due to her fever. When she fell in love with Paul, Bessie decided to cure Jessica, even if she needed to use voodoo rituals to give Paul what she thought he wanted.
