The Rome auction house of Fabio Milus provided a beautiful fake, but Susanna Noer, a German born art expert, kept it in Florence, the artist's hometown, for investigation, in order to consult her art history mentor Professor Andreas von Vicenfels. There, she lived with her friend Elizabeth Lance, where she introduced Francesco and his family.
